Default .rem extension

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all.

I am connecting my curve via USB, inserting the correct passwords to both the device and the software on the laptop, however when i try and view the pictures on my curve through windows explorer all images have the .rem extension and I cant view them.

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Sounds like data encryption was turned on. Go into the Memory section on the BB and disable encryption. It will take quite a while to work.

Ahh I've just discovered I cant alter that setting due to the IT policy on it (work phone).

With this in mind is there another media manager I can integrate with the Blackberry Desktop Manager rather than Roxio. I find it buggy and horrendous to use.

I haven't found one yet. We force media card encryption via IT Policy and that's what we're using to un-encrypt. Roxio is a hog.

The only other fallback I've found is to attach the picture to an email and send it. The attached image will be decrypted.
