Default Cleaning BB screen

Hey all... I was wondering what tips/tricks everyone uses for cleaning the screen on their BB's. I have tried a few different things but most of them leave streaks. Not exactly the most pressing problem to have on a Monday morning, but still annoys me.

Thanks in advance!

I've never seen this in any manual, but here's the solution that I use.

Take a piece of transparent scotch tape, stick it onto part of the screen, and press lightly to make sure that the tape is fully in contact with the screen.

Pull off the tape and you'll find a clean screen underneath -- the tape picks up grease and dirt very effectively.

Repeat as many times as you have to to cover the whole screen.

I use transparent tape because, if applied for a short period, it doesn't leave any adhesive on the screen.

I wouldn't leave it on long-term, though. Some glue from the tape could stick to the screen permanently.

Default Cleaning BB screen

To clean a BB screen, use the cloth that comes with eyeglasses or sunglasses. This works the best. When BB was first launched, it came with such a cloth but was discontinued when Carriers starting selling the product to keep costs down.

Yes, the tape idea is GREAT. Quick and easy way to leave the screen looking as good as new. Thanks!

I've done work for a courier company and we used the tape trick to clean scanner screens as well. Glad it worked for you.

Make sure you use the "blue" scotch tape. The "green" or "red" will leave glue residue.

this is a great trick. If you have carpet in your home, and a REAL christmas tree, this is also the BEST way to get rid of the needles that wont come out of your carpet, because the needles clog the vacum cleaner. Obviously you get bigger tape, the packaging tape kind, and just rollit all the way across the carpet.
