Default Sprint and my 8703e ROCK!

Please Login to Remove!

I finally pulled the plug on a Blackberry Phone device after carrynig a phone, GPS and text only BB for years.

Sprint made this decision easy. They walked me through my hardware and plan options, hooked me up with a plan for me and my family, provided the 8703e and two Razrs at an amazing price and delivered on everything they said they would.

When I got the BB, some things were not enabled. A call into Sprint and a transfer to the BB support people fixed me up quickly. I've had no issues with SPrints signal quality for 8 years and thier customer service people are great. I have had a bad one from time to time, but most are really good. Set the right expectations, be patient, understand this is not a perfect product or service and you wont have a reason to be upset.

As far as this BB... WOW! All features work fine. I D/L'd Yahoo IM, Google Maps and BB maps, everything works great. My email is streaming in nicly from my company and three personal accounts and my connection to my laptop is perfect. Awesome product.

This is a great forum with tons of good info. Thanks to all participants.

...hows that for a RAVE !

How's the on board GPS? That's the one benefit of Sprint's BB.

Did you-

1. Add the Blackberry data plan $39.99?
2. Perform a proper device provisioning - Options; Network; Start Provisioning?

Visit a local Sprint store instead of calling CS might be a good option as well.

Sprint is a major crapshoot. I just came back to the BB last week. Took a couple days for my internet to be up an running. The reps need to add the Blackberry unlimited plan WITH voice unless you want a data only device. Stupid Sprint people added the data only one so all my calls for a day or two (until I noticed it) will be billed at $.20/min. That will be a fun bill to dispute!

Also, they need to add the PAM (phone as modem) service to your account for it to be properly provisioned.

You may want to go to Advanced Options, Host Routing Table, and click the trackwheel to select "register now" in addition to the provisioning step outlined earlier.

Worst case, call into BB support directly at 1-877-654-9111 and ask them to "manually push" through your provisioning.
