Question How large a magnet?

Please Login to Remove!

Blackberry cases contain a magnet that the 9700 proximity sensor uses to put the phone into holster mode. I have a non-Blackberry case that I like very much, and have not found its equal. I should very much like to add a magnet or magnets to it so the proximity sensor will be triggered; make it one that the phone will think is a Blackberry case.

Can someone tell me how large this magnet is, how strong it is, and where it is located in case?

not super big; as strong as a regular small refrigerator magnet.

and its somewhere on the from under the trackpad.

and can just get a small magnet and move it around until the bb locks up. that will tell you where you need to put it.

It is an antenna deticated to the Greek goddess of war, civilization, wisdom, strength, strategy, crafts, justice and skill. So no, an Anthea is not affected by the magnet. It is however located on the back of the case so it is generally better to holster your BB with the screen facing your body.

OK, I'll admit my sense of humor isn't for everyone.

I find your "My other Blackberry is an Android" to be funnier.... good stuff....

But I think the idea of taking a magnet and running it around the BB until it locks to be the best idea. And if you are worry about the Magnet hurting the BB, use the one from the actual BB case. Just cut it out, and when you find where it needs to be on the BB to lock it..... put it on your new case in that spot. Total time spent shouldn't be more than 30 minutes from start to finish

I can see the outline of mine in my Seidio case. It's about the size of a dime, located right about where the space key is.
