Alright, well I am considering getting a blackberry curve for verizon. I am only 16 years and I have to pay the majority of my phone bill, so I want to know ahead of time what kind of bills ill have to be paying. I have heard that having a blackberry is $30.00 extra a month on a verizon phone bill. This isn't very hard for me to pay but I just wanted to confirm if this is true... Also, will there be an other things that pop up on my phone bill? I also have an unlimited txting plan through verizon, will this follow through on the blackberry?

I hate to say it but at your age you probably do need the insurance to replace the device if you don't have the income or extra cash for a replacement.

I know with att you have to pay for a plan just for minutes and text and another 39.99/month for media net unlimited which gives your the net and unlimited data. So probably ..yes to answer your question...data plans are extra$$

You, 30 bucks for BIS, and insurance is a must, especially with a BlackBerry. The insurance covers ALOT and they shit you and new (or re-furbished) device pretty quickly.

Also, don't get talked into the $45 data plan that is just for BES (Enterprise Activation for connecting to an Exchange/Domino/Groupwise server.)

The $30 for the BIS plan is for data. If you want email, BB Messenger, and internet browsing you must have a data plan. Generic smart phone plans won't work on Blackberrys - it's gotta be a bona fide Blackberry data plan.

SMS and MMS are not included in Verizon's BB data plans, so if you have unlimited texting plan now, you'll likely want to keep it even after moving to the BB.
