Ah yes - those 30s. Hey, Verizon just released the Storm (poorly). Give them a 6 month break before the next (yes, the next one will be before then, probably).
I have had a Pearl for almost 2 years, but I am always intrigued by the new devices coming out. I played with a Bold at the AT&T store the other day. The updates are nice, but I prefer my Pearl 8110 for the small form factor alone. I also like the non-grainy, smooth, tight trackball on the Bold. Now if RIM came out with a new Pearl with the Bold OS software, new browser interface, high resolution screen, etc, I would be all over it. What are the odds of this happening? And I am not talking about the Flip 820.
I think the 8900 will be a great update for a Pearl user who doesn't want a flip. All the great updates that you look for and a small form factor (only about one centimeter wider than the Pearl).
One centimeter wider?
I held one and it is much wider than a Pearl.
According to the comparisons page on blackberry.com, the Pearl is 1.97" wide, the Curve is 2.36" wide, and the 8900 is 2.4" wide. My metric may be off, but I think it is quite a bit wider. It's even wider than the 8320 Curve.
Ok, using the specs you provided, the 8900 is about .43 inches wider than the Pearl. That equals 1.09 centimeters. Gee, sorry that I was a whole .09 centimeter off in my posting.
Also, I realize that the Curve is an upgrade to the CURVE! I was only suggesting it might be good option for a Pearl user who wants newer hardware and still a smaller device.
