If they offerd the SkipTraffic service here in Toronto (instead of just in Atlanta), I'd buy it - as long as I could test it out first to see how well they actually implement it.

Cool company though....

They are a very cool company, and their products are really top notch. I purchased their screen engager personal 20 picture application a while back. Obviously, the need to send them new pictures and pay them some more to create the revised ScreenEngager was a pain in the neck. Their newer BBViewer and ScreenEngager Dynamic seem to be much better deals -- though I must admit that while going through all this I came across an open source application on the Java developer site (posted by Klaus Thiele) that allowed me to do this myself for free. If you have a technical bent to your personality, I highly recomend trying to learn how to do it yourself

Now obviously none of this applies to the Traffic Cam applications :D

Could you post the link to the Java program you are talking about? Thanks!

with OS4 you can download pictures (jpg, gif, bmp and png) and store them on your device in an app called picture. You can choose to view, use them as background for your launcher or screen saver then ... very cool.

But I own ScreenEngager Dynamic, its pretty cool though.

Does OS4.0 provide this via the handheld software, or via BES/BWC upgrade? In other words, if you are lucky enough to be beta testing the Handheld 4.0, can you view images and use the Picture app., or will you have to wait for a BES/BWC upgrade?

As for the open source app., take a look at these links...they walk through Klaus Thiel's Screen Saver application, and the many issues that many of us had before we got it to work. One very nice feature Klaus added was breaking the program into two modules. The one that accesses the restricted API does not have to be modified at all (he had it signed, and any changes would need to be signed again). The other module, containing any images you add/cahnge, does not use the restricted API. Very very cool!!!

Feel free to ask any questions -- I have gone through about a gazillion permutations to get this to work, and am pretty familiar with all the necessary steps.

Dude. If that actually worked, I'd buy STOCK. That just screams for someone to integrate it with GPS navigation to actually route you around bad traffic based upon real-time statistics.
