I’ve done some searching, but due to time limits and only being able to access the net from work, have not as yet found any real answer.

Currently we are connected to a BES with MS Exchange as the mail server.

Now, out of 24 hand sets, most pearls, some 8310’s.

Now, some of both connect and activate without issue. Even hook up and Sync fine with the desk top manager software afterwards.

A few (approx. 10) are either failing constantly to connect with the server, even after a wipe hand set, and a firmware update, and a delate user, re-add user to the BES itself.

Its been about 4 years since I have done anything technical, and even then my networking skills were limited.

Has any one come across these kinds of issues, where the server says its running fine, but the hand helds refuse to connect wirelessly to them?

(also, incoming message tones randomly turn themselves off on some hand sets, the sound says its active under the profile option, but there is no actual sound when the message – emails, come in)

I’m a dreaded novice with this, has any one got any ideas, or could point me to a forum that may help?

Have you confirm the units you are having problems with are on a BES data plan?

Yep. I have a contact within Optus who has been making sure that the service provider end is still set up for the handsets.
