Default BES Server Publishing Free/Busy Incorrectly

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

We are experiencing a high rate of people with inconsitent Free/Busy information.

Normally Free/Busy information should be published by the BES server based on the legacyExchangeDN attribute of the mailbox.

For example, if my legacyExchangeDN attribute =

/o=EXCHANGE/ou=Site1/cn=Recipients/cn=rshire

..then the FB info should be published to:

NON_IPM_SUBTREE/Shedule+ FREE BUSY/EX:/o=EXCHANGE/ou=Site1/

What we are finding is that the BES server is publishing to:

NON_IPM_SUBTREE/Shedule+ FREE BUSY/EX:/o=EXCHANGE/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYZDS07DSGKZQT7)/

This is the Exchange 2007 default(legacy) Administrative group that is created automatically. The accounts that are showing incorrect FB have been migrated to Exchange 2007 and the mailboxes are homed to an Exchange 2007 public folder server.

Curious if anyone has noticed this problem. We are using BES 4.1 SP4.

Thanks in advance.

I assume that "Site1" is the name of your Administrative group in Exchange 2003.
Is that correct?

Who cannot see these BES users' correct Free-Busy info?

Exchange 2007 user, or Excahgne 2003 users, or both?
I would expect that it would be only 2003 users or both. It's really just a guess. I am not sure how exactly Exchange 2003 users should see Exchange 2007 users' info.

Or how a user in one Administrative group should see the info for another user in a different Administrative group.
I'll see if I can find anything online. Don't hold your breath though :(

Just to throw it out there, is there a replication going on between these Public Folders?
Again, I am not an Exchagne Admin, so I don't know that much about exactly how Exchange does FreeBusy data. I am much better with BB/BES than Exchange :P

Here is someone else that sounds like they had the same issue without BES:
