Default activation request failed

Please Login to Remove!

I keep getting the message Activation request failed. A service connection is unavailable when I go to activate the BB

I have deleted and recreated the user account hoping this would solve the problem in BES.

I rebooted the device, security wiped it and try all the different mobile modes on the 8830 but I get the same time again and again.

I had someone call because under policy I am not allowed, our provider. They said they would push a patch to the BB. I tried again after an hour I was told to wait. Still no such luck.

What does this error really mean and how do I fix it?

yes, I see people mostly ask the question, is your data plan provisoned right. I am getting them to call my carrier right now to see if it is.

I was told this morning that that data plan was not set up right. They said they had the BB as a BIS and not BES.

Now I get a new error when I try a wireless activation: "An error occurred. Please contact your system Administrator"

...how descriptive.


I can send pin to pin as of this morning. I can browse the internet. I went to google.com

Wipe phone.
Remove the user from BES and wait a min then add back.
Try again.

Sometimes in the ITAdminque (in the BES database, dont go unless you know what you are doing)you will find the users id with no pin. Its like BIS plan almost activated but was stopped short. BUt some stuff remains in the BES that wont let it activate after changing to a BES plan. Removing the acct usually removes the ITAdminque entry after a min. Its like a punishment for getting BIS plan.

Yep, never trust the networks regarding data plans. The majority of staff at the networks who change them don't seem to know/understand what they are doing!
