Default 2 gb micro sd

I know that currently most pearls ( exception os2 ) only support 1gb. However will the pearl read a 2 gb disk and only giev 1 gb or will it not even read 2 gb at all.

If it will read a 2 gb andonlyallocate 1 gb memory it may pay to buy the 2 gb and wiat until the os supports 2 gb

anyone have info about this ??

Thanx
michael

Memory cards either work or they don't. If the software doesn't support 2GB, you get 0GB and not 1GB. Sorry.

You can reformat the 2Gb into two 1Gb partitions this works.

Much better to install the upgrade and read the full 2Gb's.

Man this forum has really degenerated, a lot of misinformation. If you partition the 2GB microSD card it still will NOT work with the current tmobile OS.

2GB cards are fully supported with the Rogers and O2 OS.

Folks - search please.

The 2 GB card issue and the question of "can I install the Rogers or O2 o/s on my T-Mobile Pearl" have been asked and answered numerous (and I mean numerous) times.

Version .51 of the o/s and above supports 2 GB cards.

Yes, you can install the Rogers or O2 o/s on your T-Mobile Pearl. Download the o/s upgrade, run the install, delete the vendor.xml file, connect your Berry, start Desktop Manager, and then go into Application Loader to start the install process.

Only with the first OS from T-Mo. The Rogers OS update and the o2 OS update allow 2GB cards. I have a 2GB card in mine and have ran it successfully with the Rogers and o2 OS. As stated before a search would bring all of this up as it has been covered in great detail.

I was just putting this out there to inform others what the behavior of the phone is w/a 2GB card. I know about search. Thanks.

You do know that is was already put out there previously that's why I said search. The topic has already been beaten to death in various threads.
