Default Krussel Case - Yay or Nay

Please Login to Remove!

I've never had a case on any of my phones for YEARS now. However, i did opt to pickup a Kruseel case for my 8700 - it's the one without the flap. Maybe it's just me and I'm just used to the *bare naked phone*.

Anyhow, the trackwheel use on it is very fidgity and the top of the case is not *tight* to the body of the phone. Maybe it's just me...

Is it the Krusell one that looks just like the Fortte case I reviewed here:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=30090

I imagine the comments I had about the Fortte would apply to the Krusell since they are almost identical.

I received the new Krusell Blackberry 8700c Leather Flip Case by Krusell yesterday, from e-bay for $23.00 (add shipment is about $29.00) is very nice at the leather flipper there are two sim card pockets and a bigger pocket for things like phone card.or credit cards etc. I had used same type of case on old BB for three years and happy with it.

Does your Krusell have a sleeper magnet? I would not be happy with a case that did not have one, but putting sims and credit cards anywhere a magnet can be a risky business indeed.

I have had a Krussel case for my 7520 for the last year. It is very nice, however it does add to the dimesions; small increase but noticeable after a while. If I have to use my BB alot, then I take it out.

Sorry, I just noticed that this is an open face case that would not have a magnet in any case.

Yes, it comes with magnet at flipper. I have used the Krusell for BB 6710 for three years 450,000 miles of flying, No probelm.

Regarding the size of clip, you can pickup a smaller one 0.25 in thick? they even offer have one for the car one for the bicycle.

By the way. I have nothing to do with this company. I do not know any one work for the company and not benefit from the sales of the product. Just a consumer that happy with the quality and price of the product

Your comments on the thumbwheel are SPOT on lgreen.
Is this the same on the Vaja....Unfortunately I will just have to see as I have mine on order already .......

I've read good things about the Krussel but the fit on the top part is unacceptable to me. It's too loose IMO. Loose like not coming out, but there is too much play. It is not SNUG tight to the body and kinda *wavey* in the center of the top. I'll grab some pics later on when my UPS drops off my new Nikon lense

chefwang, you are correct on the top of the case is loose and middle body too tight. I thought all leather case has some kind of issues on snug fit.

It can apply to all the leather case

I always wet the leather inside, The case will soft, put the BB in than use hair dryer to blow it, See how tight it is.

That was what I was going to experiment when I had a chance......

I'm not sure if I was to do this on the Vaja when it comes in....it tends to change the color when it get's wet IMO.

Black leather is a different story.

That was my feeling too, but their clip system does give you tons of options.

It's not as bad with the Vaja. But the fit and leather quality of the Vaja is so poor it's not worth the tradeoff.

I hear ya....but it is my understanding that once an order has been placed.....it cannot be cancelled.

I hope Vaja works with you on the issues...

Oh I didn't read close enough.

Yep, once you place the order for a case with Vaja "you own the case" and therefore it can not be returned.

Which, if you ask me, is a pretty poor way of doing business. I can understand the whole "it's a custom product" thing, but if the custom product doesn't work as advertised and just plain sucks, you should be able to request a replacement.

Just my $0.02. Looks like I'll be buying a Fortte case and a few screen protectors.

Can anyone tell me why Forte and Krusell have "open faces"? It's stated that the open face is for touchscreen smartphone/pda's but obviously, the 8700 or any BlackBerry for that matter is non-touchscreen'ed. Anyone know?

Personally, I'd pick up an OEM leather case from SmartPhoneDepot.com. I had the Fortte flip cover case and had a bad experience with the clip tearing out of the backing. There's no way that will happen with the OEM case, not that I can see.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with SPD, for the record.

Why not.

Some people prefer no obstruction to the screen.
