Lightbulb Rhapsody To Go does not work with Blackberry Storm

Please Login to Remove!

Due to the fact that the storm does not support DRM and the subscription based model for togo requires DRM on the target device.

There has been several misleading posts regarding togo working with the Storm and even several Rhapsody's support individuals believe it should work for some odd reason.

This is for clarification.

Well you can't transfer subscription based tracks to your Storm without the togo service. I assume you are transferring non-drm based music you have purchased or acquired in another means from Rhapsody?

Both Rhapsody To Go and Napster To Go (which I think both use PlaysForSure) work with my Storm. No misleadings here. It works.

No, I have transferred subscription based songs to my phone. I don't have any bought songs from Rhapsody. You have to go into Options->Memory and disable "Mass Storage Mode Support" and keep "Media Card Support" and "Media Transfer Protocol" enabled. If you are seeing the flash memory from the storm as two removable drives in Rhapsody and Windows Explorer you are doing something wrong.

Well seeing how even the Device Manager 4.7 failed to recognize the Storm ( although it had no problem with my 8830 ) this wouldn't surprise me.

In the end I needed to manually enable the drivers through device manager. The drivers for the Storm were installed but were not enabled

*edit*
Installation was done on Vista 64

I asked when I bought my phone if this would work, they told me no. However, following these instructions above I was able to get a subscription track to play on my storm. However, I do still see my "Device Memory" and "Media Card" in my Rhapsody Source list. I am 100% positive it was a subscription song. I sent one DRM song to my device and got and error when I tried to play it before changing the settings. I disabled the mass storage mode as described above and it then played fine. Thx DeadRinga.

I hate DRM! ... I will stick to Amazon MP3 and the DRM Free iTunes + songs, they work well on the storm and I have the freedom to listen to my music on all of the media devices that I own.

I just currently purchased the storm. I found out that i was able to take my itunes songs and put them on my storm. I used the rhapsody disc the phone came with and downloaded that into my computer. I was than able to transfer my songs over from my itunes to rhapsody to my storm. I was able to listen to the music on my phone until 3 days later now the files say they are not compatable and i cant listen to the songs anymore on my storm. NEED HELP!

I'm a long time fan of Rhapsody, but am not sure how to get my Rhapsody-to-Go tracks over to my phone.

Any ideas?

What's the "trick" to get the Storm to show up as a device under the Sources tab?

I forgot to mention that I'm using a Bold on the AT&T network.
