It seems to me that many celebrities are replacing their sidekick's with 8700s.

I'm not so interested in who is running BB handhelds or not. But what I am curious in (oddly enough) is what celebs are running BES Servers and if any *cough*?*TOM_CRUISE*!*cough are running their own provide Microsoft Exchange servers with BES.

Sure one could use BIS, or go with the hosted route. But I wonder if any are concerned enough with privacy to pay someone to run their own personal BES server? I think that would be cool. Call me weird.

I've often wondered that myself. I didn't want to admit it because it seems weird. But, if I had their kind of dough, I'd TOTALLY run my own ME and BES.

There is a TV show on VH1, can't think of the title, but it has Tori Spelling as the main character, and she is using a BlackBerry in it. There was actually an episode based on her losing her BlackBerry and her freaking out about it. I'm not sure which it was, but I think it was one of the 'SureType' BB's.

A lot of these folks use agents and PR firms. I would be willing to bet that a lot of these celebrities have their BlackBerries connected via their representation's BES.

I second this and confirm this notion. My sister used to work for the TV stations and Big TV corps, and she told me alot of these stars/actors and famous people all use their agents to help them setup their services. most of them would have special IT staff that can seutp their email internally by their agents or PR firm, or have it so they ahve their own dedicated email server for their own domain or website, or just be redirected.

Though she doesn't know if they specifically bought a BES server or not, but i think most of them would try to go through that route to get a BES server, if they are savy and use the blackberry's for their calendars, task and email . It just makes perfect sense.
