Default 8310 Gps

Please Login to Remove!

I recently had to replace the body on my 8310, due to droping and cracking it. I have been looking for free apps for it, so I can do geocaching in my local area. I replaced the body and now the GPS picks up NO sattilites. I now without a showdow of a doubt that I didn't damage anything when I was replacig the body, so how can I tell if I damaged anythig internally with the drop?
And if sohow can I fix that or is it something someone else has to "FIX"??
What kind of weather conditions affect the reception of the signals?
At this time and location we have heavy cloud, with storms moving in.
Will this affect reception for a BB?? It affects it no other way.
All other apps on my phone are working AOK at this time and only the gps is not resopnding.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Heavy storms could affect the GPS reception, as well as your physical location in regard to the satellites.

At times, the GPS may take a while to 'catch' the available satellites, since it must first download and install the satellite location database. This happens upon upgrading the device OS, as well as when you travel a long distance (a few hundred miles).

Make certain that you in an area of good signal coverage AND outside with a clear view of the sky in an open area of no tall buildings.

Click Options > Advanced > GPS > Menu > Refresh GPS.

Give it up to 10 minutes to refresh, and try 2-3 times in a row.

**thread moved to the GPS section**

What do I think about them? I have used Nav4All, but not Trimble. There are threads here in this GPS section, on both those apps if you want to find other user comments and reviews.

There are also other geocaching apps for the BB...
