Default Has N E 1 successfully composed a MMS.. please help!! help!! someone anyone

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone successfully composed/sent/received a MMS using their BB Pearl as Att/AT&T (Cingular Blue) user (sim)?

I bought the T-Mobile Pearl in October and had it unlocked in order to use with my AT&T sim card. I was on the phone with RIM and Cingular for about 6 hours. Service books weren’t going through. Dose this have anything to do with the AT&T sim?
I got the $44.99 BB plan and was able to send/receive email and sms, but no internet or mms. The option “Compose MMS” wasn’t even available. The upper right corner of the BB said “GPRS” “EDGE” too. I ended up selling the BB Pearl and waited till it came out for Cingular.

I now have the BB Pearl from Cingular and having the same problem, no option “Compose MMS” is showing up. Compose sms text, Compose email, Compose pin, everything is there except compose mms.

I have heard and read that in order to use MMS on the Pearl you need to have a Data Plan. If I get a pay per use data plan and GPRS/EDGE is in the upper right corner then it should work, correct? They have another BB plan for $34.99 which includes 5mb.

AT&T is old and they have the Mmode service so I don’t think ill ever be able to use the internet (html browser) on the BB. With the BB data plan email works, but how do I get mms to work? How do I get that option to even appear?

Has anyone at all had any success with this as an AT&T user? Is this even possible?

Cingular purchased AT&T wireless. Make Cingular give you a Cingular sim card. There should be no charge. Then all your problems should go away. Hope you get it working. Its a great tool/toy.

try this.

options>advanced options>host routing tables
Push menu button and select register now.

also try resending service books from BIs website

I still does not work the update to new firmware. ( search this forum for step by step)

He should already have a cingular sim. pearls were never released for at&t. and as far as i know 99.9% of at&t customers have allready been migrated to cingular.

He specified that he has a AT&T sim and that is why he got his pearl is unlocked.

It won't work without a newer SIM. And your account needs to be provisioned correctly.

This is a forum and he is just typing "Please help" because he needed some help. Would you rather him say "HELP ME YOU SON OF A %*#!@" Yeah I don't think so, this forum is just for help and to share info on your Blackberries... if you have a problem with it maybe you shouldn't click on it?

My point, which should be obvious to anyone, is that you can ask a question without being hysterical. Instead of the title being:

"Has N E 1 successfully composed a MMS.. please help!! help!! someone anyone "

how about this:

"Trouble with sending MMS message"

Got it? Good....

umm aaa......, im going to post titles anyway i want. It's kinda weird to me why this is upseting you. there are bigger things in life than this, but ok.

I just have a problem and i want the best input from the most people, and if you have a problem simply don't click on it, it's that easy.

The problem is that people USUALLY reserve that kind of title when they really need help RIGHT NOW - like they just dropped their phone in water, or their phone was just stolen. NOT when they have a questions about a feature.

You should feel free to post titles as you want - just be careful you aren't crying wolf over something that is not critical or time dependant.

saldous - have you tried calling O2 - I know that with a Vodafone phone you actually have to call them once you have the phone and have MMS activated on your account before you can use it. Seems kinda stupid but thats what they told me when I called with the same problem on an old phone. Haven't tried sending an MMS yet with my Pearl but that might work.

I don't see the point why it would matter. He needs help so he puts a post asking for it. Maybe he needs MMS, he has gone over so many details and if he has maybe he actually does want people to help. If someone put "PLESE HELP MY PHONE HAS BEEN DUNKED INTO WATER" The either way accordingly to the title people will look at it because they asked for help. Seeing as there are so many active users in BBF and a big majority of them in the Pearl section, a lot of people would ask for help and go through them. If they can help then they can help, he isn't crying wolf cause he put some things to attract people to his thread, and hey if I wanted help then it's a good idea, put some exclamation points, attract more people to read to get answers to your problem, it's a smart thing. Again, if you get bugged by it so much reread the title, it obviously states it is a problem about MMS and is accurate, if that's still a problem then don't click it.

P.S. I just noticed I said he a lot, assuming you are a he, if you aren't then sorry.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I dislike of immensely when people post with hysterical titles. If it doesn't bother you, then great...

All right, children. Enough. We get it...it's the internet...everyone's a badass.

Get over yourselves. And back to being productive.
