I have the 8700c with .284 and tmobile sim. I can hardly use this phone outside. people always complain its hard to understand me and there is to much background noise. Do I have a deffective unit or is the mike very sensitive.

I have a 8700c and no problems at all. Never had a single complaint from anyone. Maybe be your phone.

I called my work phone from the bb and held the bb mike about 8 inches from my face. I blew a very slightly toward the mike and it was very loud on my work phone headset. I think the mike is way to sensitive so if I am outside and there is the slightest wind it makes it very hard for the person to hear me. I tested this with 2 8700c's. One on tmobile and 1 on Cingular and using diffferent FW versions. They were identical. If I am inside the users hear me fine.

The mike is way to sensitive on these things.

I have an 8700G and I have never had a complaint? I would say you have bad luck with phones
