Default Verizon 8830 and MMS

Please Login to Remove!

I just got my device and I don't seem to have the ability to send / receive MMS messages. Anyone else get this? How do I get it working? My plan allows MMS.

8830 is not capable of MMS. If you want to receive images, have person email you them. Sorry!

Providing you know your senders carrier you can send pics from you device by using there number@..(What ever carrier address)

Verizon vzwpix.com AT&T/Cingular mms.att.com Sprint/Nextel messaging.sprintpcs.com T-Mobile tmomail.net Virgin vmobl.net Boost Mobile myboostmobile.com Alltel message.alltel.com Amp’d Mobile vzwpix.com

It takes a little longer but if you add their number as an email address in contact then it shouldn't be that bad.

In terms of receiving MMS messages, my phone's shows the message, but instead of showing the picture/video, it gives me the link to the verizon website where you can log-on and view the pictures there.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Is there any other third-party program which simplifies this?

It is kind of silly that it can't receive MMS messages - with Verizon, if you have vzwpix.com save your mobile number and password, it only takes a few extra clicks: log in and view received messages. It is a little bit annoying, but not unbearable by any means - probably more convenient than having an aftermarket program, at least in my opinion.

There is a MMS.cod file but I don't think it is loaded into the active OS, I wonder if there is a hack to get this into the handheld....

Are you saying it can't be done because it won't do anything or because it won't let you. How about clarifiying your one liners there?

Once you click on the vzwpix link within the supposed MMS, it'll redirect you to the wap version of that site. There, after you type in your mobile number and password and log in, you click on 'Received Messages' and it'll show you the pictures you have received within whatever browser you use on your BB.

Use email, man. You bought a business blackberry. If you wanna have fun dont buy a business phone. You can use email to send and receive mms and pictures.

yep email is an easy alternative, as long as the sender has internet/email access and they remember to do it. still though, the curve isnt supposed to be all business and this is a pretty basic feature that should be functioning flawlessly.
