Default What is this icon!

I have an 8830 on Verizon, in the top left of the screen, just below the signal strength indicator is an icon that looks like a Circle with a cross in it, a bit like a target. What is this for?

Thanks!

According to what theme you are running, it could be a charging symbol? It could be the Alarm Clock on? I don't know what theme you have up.

I have the Verizon theme. It is not plugged in so it isn't the charging one, and the alarm one is further to the right just below the clock. This one is all the way over to the left. I'll take a picture a bit later to show you what I mean.

I am currently running the Vz theme as well. It is the GPS services '911 Only' indicator.

You can see the setting under:

Options/Advanced/GPS/GPS services

Cool, good to know. I don't have that option at Options/Advanced/GPS. Never seen that symbol on my 8800.

you dont. It can only be changed to 911 only or location those are the only two options/ 911 only is where to keep it at that way its not using battery power to search for GPS coverage.

As of right now, nothing. Location is for LBS(location based services) like VZNavigator. I believe this option is for aGPS only, not using your typical GPS chipset that is currently crippled.

I'd keep it set to 911 only. If VZNavigator comes out for the 8830, I would suspect it would use its internal GPS anyways instead of using towers to locate you.
