Default O2 UK > T-Mobile UK, Which firmware to use?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

Ive searched a few forums and not found the answer I was looking for; hopefully someone can shed some light on this

I have a non T-Mobile UK 8100 handset (it's by O2) and its unlocked to work on any other UK network apart from 3.

I was wondering as its an O2 UK branded handset could I load on a T-Mobile UK firmware update/software or would they need to be from O2?

Thanks

I'm using Telefonica's 067 firmware on my O2 8100 with no problems at all.

Just follow the debranding advice posted elsewhere on the forum before installing on the BB

Same here, this Telefonica 067 is soo much faster than the default O2 one I had on before. I'm very happy with it, and it appears to have solved my call answering lag too

Thanks for the replies,

I'm very new to this so apologies in advance for any silly questions!

Will the Telefonica 067 work with T-Mobile?

I've been told by a colleague something along the lines of "pin/imei of the unit removed from the o2 account before using it on another network especially if data products are to be used" < That's completely lost me, I think T-Mobile would send me some settings once I register on their network?

Thanks

the .67 OS for the 8100 will work on ANY 8100. You just have to delete the vendor.xml file after installing said software on your pc---then do the upgrade.
