I have a 8700c and no problems at all. Never had a single complaint from anyone. Maybe be your phone.

I've heard people rave about how good it is, and people complain about how bad it is. It may be the unit.

Default I just did an interesting test with 2 8700s

I called my work phone from the bb and held the bb mike about 8 inches from my face. I blew a very slightly toward the mike and it was very loud on my work phone headset. I think the mike is way to sensitive so if I am outside and there is the slightest wind it makes it very hard for the person to hear me. I tested this with 2 8700c's. One on tmobile and 1 on Cingular and using diffferent FW versions. They were identical. If I am inside the users hear me fine.

The mike is way to sensitive on these things.
