Default SD card says it's full when it's EMPTY? On Mac computer.

Please Login to Remove!

Okay so i got a 1.8gb sd memory card for my blackberry curve 8520.. i put it in and it SHOULD hold about 400 songs.. there's nothing at all on the memory card right now.

I'm on a MAC computer, so i get on the bb desktop manager and it won't even allow me to sync 1 SONG because it says there isn't any disc space :(

please help? all i want to do is put songs on my blackberry so if theres a way to do it other than DM or if anyone knows why it keeps telling me the sd card is full when its empty that would be helpful. this is REALLY frustrating.
thanks.

and i have no access to any PC's so it's either this works on the mac or nothing :(

The amount of songs you fit on it depending on the size of the songs and bitrate and so forth so 400 would be only a guess..

Have you enabled Mass storage mode on the BlackBerry or MTP? Options -> Memory.

Did you format the card once it was in your phone?

I wonder if your card is full up with lost sectors? Before formatting you may want to run the repair function. Look in options > memory > menu > repair ... I don't know for sure if you have it or not, but if so it should be wherever you have the format option.

If that doesn't work, then if it were me I'd format.

As Steve suggested, you do not have to use Desktop Manager. You can enable mass storage mode in options, then drag and drop the files from the computer folder to the music folder on the microSD card.

But I'm wondering first about the card. Did you format the card on the blackberry, or did you format using a computer? Have you tried the card in a card reader on a computer? Have you tried another card in the blackberry?

It is possible the card is bad, I've purchased bad storage devices in the past.

Next step would be to plug it into your computer, Open "My Computer" or just "Computer" and navigate through the SD Card via Windows. You can also right click the card choose properties and it will show you a pie chart of Free/Used space.

I would also try formatting it from your computer.
