Did you use the Switch Device Wizard in the Desktop Manager? Thats what I did when I switched from my Pearl to a Curve. The latest version of the Desktop manager has this.

Are you using the same sim card for both devices??? If so, there might be where your problem is. If you have AT&T, see if your media net works, but just the browser and e-mail won't.

You can try 2 things - First Back up and restore all the datas from your Perl. (In case if something happens) Then you will need to use the switch device wizard to transfer everything onto your new Curve. Depends on how much stuff you had on your Perl, this should take a while, and device restarting and booting up again is normal during this process.

Now, I just had to switch a new curve myself from AT&T. After I switch to the new device, I had to go back to the blackberry service website to update my new device pin and IMEI# (OR YOU CANNOT GET ON INTERNET OR RECEIVE YOUR E-MAIL). If you still experience problem after you update the IMEI on the website, call up blackberry support by your service provider, they will need to update this manully on their end.

You curve will never say that... In case if it ever dose, just pull the battery out and do a hard reset. It fixes everything.

ummmm.

did you go to options > advanced options > host routing table > register now?

that probably would have fixed your problem .. you might have just been missing your service books ...

I think I would visit a TMobile location and ask them to set everything back up. You should not be having this much difficulty with a new phone.

The people @ blackberry support should be able to register your phone on the network again. It sounds like your phone is not registered with the network yet when you switched from your Perl. Do you have a 'EDGE' on the top left hand corner of your new phone? If not, then your phone is not on the network.
