Default How to get sent e-mail from BBerry to Desktop?

Please Login to Remove!

I understand that I can reconcile what I send from my BB onto my desktop but i do not know how to do this. Can anyone help me with this?

i.e - I am trying to make sure that e-mails I send from my BB are transferred to my desktop (Outlook) when I sync (or do whatever i need to do).

Thanks in advance,
-Matt-

Matt, are you on a company BES (BlackBerry Enterprise System)?
If so, you should have that function.

If you are on BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) you won't. BIS is usually personal users.

Neither of them synchronize mail and messages via USB, BIS will sync calendar, address book, memo and tasks.

BIS.
Is there a 3rd party app that will sync mail? It's a pain to always have to "cc" myself in order to make sure I have my "sent" emails that I send from my BB...

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 7100i: BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

If you are using a gmail account. Sent mail shows up as sent in your gmail account.

I have my BB email set up to auto BCC myself. I then have a filter set up on the BB to not download messages from the same account to the BB.

They show up in my Outlook and I have a rule set up there to move them into my "sent mail" folder.

Bingo. This is exactly what I do. Works just fine.

Sounds like a great workaround.

Any chance you could walk me through these two parts:
1: "I then have a filter set up on the BB to not download messages from the same account to the BB"

2: "I have my BB email set up to auto BCC myself"

I can figure out the Outlook steps.

Thanks,
-Matt-

  • Log in to your TMobile account.
  • Click on "Setup Blackberry Internet E-mail"
  • Click on "edit" next to the account that you would like to do this with.
  • At the bottom of the email account settings for that account is a field for "auto BCC:" - add the same email address in there. So, if you are editing [email address], add that same address to the BCC field.
  • Click "save"
  • Back on the email accounts screen click on "filter" next to the [email address] account.
  • Click on "add filter"
  • In "filter name" put the account name or some name that is unique, nothing major...
  • In the dropdown "Apply filter when..." select "new mail arrives"
  • Click on the radio button at the bottom for "Do not forward messages to device" and hit "add filter"

That should do it.

What it does - when you send an email from your BB using your account [email address], it will send a copy of that message to the same account. This will cause it to show up in your Outlook. The filter keeps the BB from downloading the message again.

That should do it. I have been doing this for years, works great.

Well, there is probably an easier way to do it by turning on the confirm delivery option and/or confirm read function from your BB device. Or you can UNHIDE the sent message. These are all under message options once you are inside the e-mail inbox.

Thanks doppeljr. This works perfectly!

I use AT&T and it is just about identical.
Auto BCC setup is easy.
Filter the "FROM" field and do not forward mail from the same e-mail you have your BB send from.

If your email account supports IMAP you can also use that to get BB sent items onto your desktop. Both the BB BIS account and your desktop mail client have to be set up to use IMAP instead of pop3 for this to work.
