Question Lost My Voicemail Speed Dial

Please Login to Remove!

I've recently updated the software on my 8703e, and I no longer have my speed dial for voice mail (1/w key).

I cannot figure out how to set it up again...

Any help?

Thanks...

try to pull your battery out and wait for 60 seconds. It fixed my problem.

Or you can search for it. Someone came up with a fix for this,
delete speed dial for 'w', make a new address in your addressbook for voicemail, create a new speed dial entry for that.

However, battery pull fix worked for most of us.

If you're asking "how" to set up your speed dial list again, go to call log then view speed dial list.

Go to your Speed Dial list and delete the entry for W EVEN if looks blank. If you can't delete it add in something and then delete it.

Reboot the handheld by taking the battery out ... and whallah (well ... it worked for me)

It's easy to manually put it in, in addition to the other excellent suggestions. I went to "Call Log", clicked the trackwheel, chose "View Speed Dial List", scrolled down to W, deleted the entry. Then I created a phone book entry called "Ampa's Voyce Mail" with the voicemail number, went to the home screen, pressed and held W -- when it asks if you want to assign a number, go from there! The voice mail number is available in Call Log>Click Trackwheel>Options>Voice Mail. Now when I press W, people wonder how I got it to say Ampa's Voyce Mail and they think I'm a genius

For some reason the W key had stopped working for voicemail on an old 6230 I had, and also on my current 8700g. I seem to remember that cold booting each device did not work to solve the problem.

"Ampa" is what my grandkids call me --

Wirelessly posted (Thumpers 8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8703e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

You don't need to go through all those steps. Just follow hdawg's advice. Delete the blank entry on your speed dial for the W key, and reboot (alt/cap/del).
