Default T-mobile 8700 Software questions

Please Login to Remove!

I use Tmobile & the 8700, for BBerry Internet Service (yahoo & gmail email accts). I need to download the desktop software to communicate w/ Outlook. Where can I get that?

Also, when software upgrades, is it for desktop software or the devise as well. Where can I get all this info? What are the benefits of upgrading, etc, etc?

Thanks in Advance from a BASIC, non-tech BBerry user!

The device and the desktop manager software are separate and are upgraded separately

oh gosh... search around here for one, search using the OS version # you want to find out about.

For instance, I upgraded my device to .346 and there's no real visible difference.

Ditto on the new TMO desktop to 4.2.1.8, no real difference. It adds the media manager, but that is not involved in a 8700g BB.

You can always download the latest version of Desktop Manager from RIM.

Depends on the specific upgrade you're looking at. RIM typically doesn't provide release notes so you really need to follow discussions about the upgrades here.
