I'm having a recurring "JVM Error 102" on my phone. I know how to fix it and I make daily backups of my phone whenever possible, but I'm sick of having to restore my phone ever 2-3 days when I have this problem.
Does anybody know what causes the problem and what I can do to prevent it from happening in the future?
What I was told by RIM while working for sprint/nextel, is that the error refers to a conflict with device not being able to read the radio. It presents as a software error, but its actually a hardware problem. No matter how many times you fix it, its only temporary.
Ugh. That's really frustrating. I bought this thing used about two months ago and it was great up until the last week. Now I'm wishing I had paid more to get it new from T-Mobile
Not sure if it's a fix but this has definitely helped me out. I set Auto On/Off to automatically cycle the phone every day and I haven't had any issues after a week. I had been getting the JVM error every 2-3 days until I started doing this.

Hopefully this can help somebody else out.
Hi, is it still doing the error, I have the same problem and it keeps repeating sometimes a week, sometime days etc. just let me know if your trick worked very announing problem.
Call your carrier, bb's come with 1 yr warranty. You may still be able to get it replaced by your carrier for a refurbished one. Better than going through your ordeal.
Seen this happend with brand new devices straight out the of the sealed box. Error is not due to 3rd party apps, but is in fact a hardware defect/malfunction. If BB was purchased within 30 days, it will be replaced with a brand new phone in a Sprint Store (must be active and on account). If past 30 days, there may be a charge up to $119 plus tax if you do not have ESRP ($4/month extended warranty from Sprint, may be called "insurance") on your account, for a refurbished BB. I belive there is a JVM known issue that allows a waive in any charge but I'm not sure I'll have to check.
