Jason, do you have any idea what 5.0 build the GSM 8xxx series is up to? Latest I have seen is 5.0.0.53 and that was MONTHS ago...

Raptor, from what I understand, you won't be seeing anything past .53 for the GSM 8xxx devices, except for the 8900.

As has been posted many times in this thread. Just because it's listed here doesn't mean it's even "findable."

Oh I see. So the beta's, since their beta's, are likely only available to developers and beta testers eh?

It's nice to see 5.0 progressing so much! It has much promise and will be worth the wait! Hopefully someone will drop a leak for my new Tour!

Does anyone know if the 5.0 software will be released for the Curve 83xx series?

From what I understand, no.
OS 5.0 development for any GSM devices 81xx, 83xx, 87xx and 88xx has ceased with 5.0.0.53 and won't be released... of course that is rumor.

The 8330 will see 5.0, but no other 81XX-88XX device will.

Correct. The 8330 is CDMA, I spoke only of GSM

What is the reasoning behind this?

I am running 5.0 on my BOLD, and aside from the "obvious" BETA bugs, I am quite fond of it. Is it to simply force those with 83xx devices to upgrade?
