You can't downgrade the 9700 to pre-5.0 OS.

Agreed, there is no pre-5.0 OS for the 9700.

You're speaking of the threaded SMS, conversational style SMS?
Users have begged for it for years. Now you got it.

Well, you are either going to have to get used to it, or get an older BlackBerry.

HELP! First off, I cant figure out how to post my own thread, so I am sorry to interlope on this one.

Second.... I cannot seem to get the option to have "conversation" or threaded SMS messages on my 9630. I have wiped it clean with JL Cmder. Installed the newest OS via desktop manager and even tried downgrading the OS. Nothing will work to give me the option to change the view of SMS messages.
Please please please help!
Thanks!!

Ah, one who wants the threaded SMS.

jpdriver... first off there is a NEW THREAD button toward the top left of each forum section, where you can create your own thread.

Second, what OS is installed on your device at Options > About, third line down looking like "v.4.x.x.xxx"

What is yours?

You'll get threaded SMS whenever you choose to upgrade your 9630 to OS 5.0, see the link here for that.

I never understood the craze over Threaded SMS. Treo users used to brag about it all the time.

I really don't care for it...i actually prefer the old way, i like keeping track of things by date, not grouped into a convo. I really wish there was an option to switch between the two!

As for now, i've gotten used to the threaded SMS, i'm content with it if anything.

Blackberry Bold 9700 was the first time I used a threaded SMS. I see it is a big different from my old BB 7100v old style of SMS.

I couldn't figure out how to delete a SMS because once I deleted a specific 1 SMS, it deleted whole threaded SMS of that part of SMS.
