I like Ubuntu 7.04 but Debian Testing even Unstable is also good. I like the command line more and more and will probably give Arch a try in a couple of weeks.

Talking Xandros for life!

Hi All,

I haven't participated in this "corner" of the forums very much, but here I am.

I have been running a Xandros box for a few years now. I love the ease of use, but don't love the bugs. Overall it is a great distro for starters and for people who want to learn Linux. Also, it is great for a linux desktop in a windows evnironment. I also run sevreal servers on it, including FTP, HTTP (PHP, Perl, JSP), SQL Server and, of course, SSH.

Being a less known distro (based on Debian) there isn't as much research material out there as some others, but the community support is great! (Just like that of the BlackBerry)

Hope you found this to be an interresting read,

I'm running debian testing/unstable on an HP Compaq NC6000 laptop. Have been since 2.5 yrs ago. I've managed to get my blackberry 7130c charged and backed up in linux using xmblackberry. I've even managed to get wireless sync with evolution using funambol. The last barrier to full blackberry support in linux is being able to use the blackberry as a modem. Once that's tackled, then windows is relegated to virtual machines from now on.

My work is pretty much a SUSE shop, so...

Currently:
I use SLED 10 SP1 on my Lenovo T60
I use openSUSE 10.2 on my HP xw8400

Like most of the other people here I probably have a couple VMs of each of the major distros that I mess around with.

Hopefully, one day RIM and the carriers will realize that GNU/Linux OSes are more than just hobby OSes. It really bothers me that I have to boot into a Windows XP VMWare VM just to run VZAccess Manager or Sprint Mobile Broadband for Phone as Modem.

Hey everyone, I'm new here (on my first blackberry). I'm also an XP user (I know, I hate Microsoft to). My only problem is I'm a gamer at heart and don't know much about game support for Linux. Do you guys know of any dist thats easy to get games designed for Windows running?
