Default "All Circuits Are Busy" Message

Please Login to Remove!

Ever since I got my 7290 (which I use as my phone), people trying to call me are constantly getting an "all circuits are busy" message. Anyone else have this problem? I have a 646 (nyc) number but use the phone in LA. Might this contribute to it? When I called customer service, they said this was just "congestion," which I find hard to believe given that this has happened in the middle of the night.

Thanks

I get it all the time calling anywhere right now. Ever since the hurricane. Even on my home phone occasionally and I'm in DC

I have Nextel and haven't experienced any problems. I did have to call down to LA a couple of times and got the "all circuits busy" but I have access to GETS and WPS and was able to connect using them without any trouble.

LA as in Louisiana? Or LA as in Los Angeles?

If Louisiana... you should be ashamed of yourself for even asking about this...

anyone in or around the greater Houston area has been working with/around this all day today, and it will probably continue until most of the evacuees have left the area, or through the storm's passing.

anyone "out there" who will need to contact a wireless subscriber "here" will most likely be leaving voice messages immediately. the only consistent service is GPRS, so most SMS or carrier emails should go through.

T-Mobile, Cingular and Sprint have all experienced issues, ranging from "fast busy" tones to "Congestion" to "boo-doo-DEEEEP!". a friend had to manually set his Sprint to ROAM just to complete a call to a T-Mobile subscriber (calls to other carriers did not suffer this nuance). in an unprecedented situation, Cingular service here was actually at constant failure for a number of hours, while T-Mobile could complete at least 1 out of 5 outgoing calls.

as today's issues seem to be both wireless and wireline based, it is unkown exactly how the networks will survive or maintain. there has been no notification that the market will go to "open-roaming" proactively, rather than after-the-fact as with Katrina.

For quick message, I recommend SMS or PIN. Even if the network is busy, they should retry every so often until the message is sent.

The Jetblue 292 flight incident caused a big surge of phone calls and caused congestion in Los Angles. Couldn't this have been it?

Well I'm in Baton Rouge and ever since the Hurricane I've been having problems dialing out.....(system busy errors).....I just figured it was because of the population spike and the towers simple couldn't handle the amount of users. It's epecially bad when 'Free Nights & Weekends' kick in. It's kinda aggravating though....I have to dial at least 4 or 5 times to get a call out. Direct Connect works fine though and all data.
