Sounds like you have a BlackBerry data plan on the account for that BlackBerry handset, and have successfully added one email account already.
The first troubleshooting step is a hard reset: With the power on, remove the battery for a least 30 seconds. Make sure you have good mobile signal when you put the battery back.
