Red face English a second language?

Please Login to Remove!

Yeah, I'm bad, I haven't been on the forum in ages!

I've had this BB for about 2 years now and pretty much learned all I needed to know about it from scouring through here way back when. Since then, everything has been great and I guess I just haven't had a need to come back for help. Just like not-so-close family members, I only show up when I need help...lol.

So today my BB has been acting up, audio alerts didn't work, I couldn't play my voicemail messages, and it would reboot every time I tried to make or receive a call, so I decided to pay an annual visit to see if there were any known issues.

WHEN THE HECK DID ENGLISH BECOME A SECOND LANGUAGE AROUND THIS PLACE? I tried to read through the 8300 forum and I couldn't understand half of the OPs! I thought I had mistakenly entered an iPhone forum, but no, I was in the right place. I haven't looked at new BBs for a while. Did RIM get rid of punctuation and symbols? Abandon Qwerty keyboards? Adopt auto-correct? Make Turkish slang the new default language?

I'll probably be looking for a new BB in a few months since this one has seen better days. Is there a specific model I should look for that will ensure I have punctuation, qwerty, and English?

Sorry if most of you can't understand what I typed.

By the way, I did a battery pull and all is fine now.

In the meantime, OMGWTFBBQ, IDK, my BFF Jill, YOLO, WTFDYJW, ^URS and KTHXBIE.

Perhaps this was the real problem....You should not have been reading through the 8300 forums as you have an 8500 device!

Don't stray into the BBM forum. It's like wading through STD's with bare feet.
