Default How Do I Clean My Trackball?

Please Login to Remove!

I have noticed, much to my chagrin...that my once snow-white trackball has been turning an increasingly dingy-gray color after only a few weeks worth of use!! I have kept my hands reasonably clean...but it still looks darker than it did brand new.

The weird thing is...it still glows bright white when in use. But, when it's not, it is not too attractive.

Is there any sure-fire way to clean my trackball so it remains nice and white?

Probably the 2nd most asked question around here, with dozens of threads devoted it. If you don't want to take it apart--the easiest method is to use an alcohoh wet wipe (not the soapy ones from a BBQ rib restaurant, but an alcohol pad like used for medical care) and wipe your trackball gently.

Some dip a q-tip in alcohol (isopropyl recommended) and swab the trackball gently with no alcohol dripping into it.

And if you look here you will find detailed threads of disassembling it to clean it, which is my last choice.

It will get dirty and never be as white as snow again, you can count on that.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

There are several techniques and countless threads about this!

But even with cleaning it turns dingy only way to really keep it white is to replace it!

Some use rubbing alcohol on tip of qtip and "scrub/roll" the pearl. Whatever you do make sure the qtip isn't drenched just damp or you may find yourself with biggger issues

You can get them for 9.99 on one of the sites. It only takes a minute to swap them. Get a couple so that you have some in stock!

LOL!
I can't imagine you sitting in a BBQ!
Speaking of which I'm feeling for that Catfish dish they got.
