Unhappy Curve Trackball

Please Login to Remove!

So my roommate (the same one who wanted to kill me for upgrading her Pearl and almost destroying it) has accidentally retaliated and screwed up my trackball. Got something sticky in it I think. Anyways, it doesn't scroll to the left anymore and it barely scrolls up. I've been looking at sites that sell the trackball with the lil chrome clip and came across blackberrytrackballs.com they have the cheapest price I've seen so far, but I don't know how legit they are, and very very rarely will I buy anything off the internet. I'm one of those people still stuck in the stoneage... I was just wondering if anyone has or knows someone who has used this website to purchase the trackball kit and if it would be worth my time to buy one. It's cheap, so I could just buy it and if it didn't work or whatever, I'd only be out about $13 but I'd rather not lose any money unwittingly.

Thanks in advance to anyone who may be of help.

Oh, and if you know of any other sites that are legitimate and relatively cheap, I'd be grateful. I need to get this problem fix pronto

you try a powerwasher? or the dishwasher??

....Let us know how you fix it.

My 2yo is always getting my phone covered in yogurt. I just use a toothbrush to clean it then an old Oakley sunglasses bag to wipe it down.

Thanks for the advice you guys. I think I'm going to try this trackball thingy from the site I mentioned, and if that doesn't work, well then I'm only out $13. Then I'll more than likely try the Horizzon Wireless thing. I just hate the idea of being without my Curve for very long.....I would have to dust off my old Samsung slider from 3 years ago to put my SIM card in...

Did you try cleaning the trackball with a q-tip dampened with alcohol? Some good suggestions here:

The trackball pops right out when you remove the chrome retention ring. Take it out first and try to clean it. Takes less than 5 minutes and is free.

I recently spilled coffee on my trackball (go me) and I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and then left it in the sun.. It works fine now, maybe that will help?

But I did wanna say one thing, your simpsons quote is all wrong..

Its either "English? Who needs that? I'm never going to England" - Homer Simpson
or "Me fail English? That's unpossible!" - Ralph Wiggum

Sorry, it was just so obviously wrong, I had to say something haha

Hope your curve gets fixed!
