Default Recommend PatternLock as solution to hypersensitive Torch lock button!

--------------------------------

I have been quite frustrated by the ridiculously easy-to-toggle Torch hardware lock button on the top left corner, often finding the phone not only unlocked in my pocket but frequently in the middle of making a call to some random number. I noticed in a thread here a few days ago someone mentioned PatternLock as a useful app that prevents the phone from random unlocks, so I tried the free version and loved it. As a gesture to the developer I just bought the $2.99 advanced version but frankly the free version works great.

Just a shout out to the kind of utilities that will help make BB App World a better place....

Cheers

Nice app but it doesn't work when the Torch returns from a magnet induced sleep mode. Locked the Torch, put it in a magnet holster. When I removed it from the holster, the screen was fully active - bypassed the patternlock.

Berryslider does the same thing unless you set "launch in holster" to yes. Is there a similar setting in Patternlock?

Yes,there is a auto-lock device upon holstering setting (Yes or No) although cant comfirm how well it works,I don't use a holster.

I have patternlock set up to auto-lock when backlight turns off...I set my top right mute button as a second convenience key to turn the back light off, when I push the mute button patternlock locks my device automatically,I put my phone in pocket w/o holster...no problems what so ever!

tbird57 - played aro9und with the options and lock when turning off the backlite does the trick. When I take it from the holsetr I get the unlock screen and when I get a call the screen auto unlocks so all is well.

Thanx!

Hmmm, I noticed it does that to mine as well from time to time, unfortunately. May revert back to the free version as well. Too bad, a lot of nice features in the Pay version.
