I'm switching from a 8310 to a 8900 and I would like to know the sequence of steps to make the transfer go as smooth as possible.Should I first upgrade the os to the latest version before I transfer any Data? Also, do I have to send my new pin to all my BBM contacts or will that transfer as well?

Thanks,

Jeff

The switch can be as easy as backing up the 830 and restoring to the 8900. Checkout the article at blackberryfaq.com on backing up your third party apps, if necessary. You will need to notify others of your new pin. I'll leave to others to advise on the OS upgrade for the 8900.

And log in to your BIS and use the "Change Device" option to switch your emails over to the new device.

I would recommend using the switch device wizard within Desktop Manager. It will copy over your data/settings and your 3rd party applications.

Yes, it does.

( I grew up in Southworth-nice to see a local posting!)
