just got the 9700 today and really hate the SMS layout, the OS is v5.0.0.593 and i was wondering it there is any way to either downgrade to v.4.6 like my bold 9000 had, or to change the layout of the SMS so its the same as my bold 9000? please help!! thanks in advance!

i read that any OS lower than 5.0 wouldnt work on the new bold, i wanted to double check, does v4.6 work on the 9700?

Downgrade the 9700 to a pre-OS 5 version? Was there ever a 4.X version for the 9700?

yes, v4.6 was the best for me, although I thought you could just use whatever OS on your blackberry hence downgrading + upgrading being available on any model?

I don't use SMS/MMS and don't really pay attention to the threads on that topic. But you might search specifically on your issue and find out how it varies with versions of OS 5. If it is something you can learn to live with, that's what I would advise.

There is no 4.x OS available for the 9700.

Threaded SMS is the only option available.

You'll get used to it. ;)
