Default How to Create a Duplicate of a Contact?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there a way on the Blackberry itself to create a new contact by duplicating an already existing contact and just change the name and phone number that's from the same company/residence?

We use Lotus Notes/Domino at work (no Outlook) and duplicating a contact isn't available there either. (I'd prefer to do it on the Blackberry anyway since it's always with me).

Thanks

Try emailing the contact to yourself. I tried it as an MMS but it doesn't transmit the vCard. I imagine if you email it to yourself you can save it that way with a new name. I have yet to find a way on the BB to copy or duplicate it.

Thanks for your suggestion. I just tried it and while I'm able to view the vCard, it doesn't allow me to update it so that I can add to the contact list. I just get "Update Contact" in the menu as if the OS knows the contact already exists in my address book and I simply want to update it.

I wouldn't even mind too much if it allowed me to add the vCard as a duplicate contact which I could then just edit for a new contact but I didn't have the option to do that.

You might be on the right track but I might be missing a small step somewhere.

Well...halfway there ain't bad. Try sending it, then changing the name on the one in your contacts and see if it will let you save the new one. It may not since I know you can create duplicate contacts. Let us know what happens.
