Default Anyone interested in taking a quick survey on Smartphone usage?

Please Login to Remove!

Greetings;
I am currently working on a bachelors degree thesis which is on the impact of Smartphones on business and structured organizations efficiency. I am looking for people interested in taking an online survey on this subject and/or passing it along to others that might want to participate in this study.

If you are willing to take the survey, I have included a link below. Participation is anonymous and information gathered from this survey will be exclusively used for this study and will be kept confidential.

Thank you for any help you can provide in this regard.

IMPACT OF MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS SURVEY

This survey supports a thesis which is researching the role mobile communications technologies are playing in increasing efficiency of business and structured organizations. By gaining quantitative data of opinions, adoption, and use it can be determined whether the adoption of mobile communications technologies such as Blackberries and other multifunction Smartphone devices has a measurable effect on business productivity or just its perception. If business productivity is related to timely access to information and the ability to quickly disseminate decisions to other responsible sources, then employees in decision-making jobs should be more productive when using mobile communications technology.
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Smartphone-Survey

Just so you know, I am also Blackberry user and BES co-administrator (~500 users) with years of non-BB smartphone experience as well as a college student.

Done! Interesting questions. I provided some feedback to my answers, too.

I will post the results, but not yet as it would sway the answers of anyone that has not participated. I can say I am happy with the demographics that I am seeing (good mix on the forum), though I think the postal zip code entry is an issue for anyone not in North America or Canada. Still, please keep the surveys flowing as I need many for any definitive results. Thank you

To be honest it looks like your attempting to justify work at home. I have a feeling, a lot of employers once they see how easy it is to not pay for offices and the associated cost to house employees that are working at home, they make the next jump to outsourcing. Go to work. Keep your smartphone

Ha-ha, no I am not trying to justify anything. My survey just asks basic questions about company culture.

Though your comment is something I have had to extensively cover for my thesis. The lost of intellectual capital (that would be us) due to outsourcing operations could actually weaken some companies, not help. Internet and communications technologies (ICT) devices like blackberries have a little to do with any growth of outsourcing. The nature of ICT lends itself to playing a role in globalization though.

Currently I have about 30% of the surveys that are required for the study.
Please keep the surveys coming and I will gladly post all the statistics and there meaning when the survey concludes.

I cannot as of yet post all the current results as they would sway the answers of anyone that has not participated. But below are the current statistics for participation:

Male 61.2%
Female 38.8%

Age:
18-22 4.5%
23-27 4.5%
28-32 6.0%
33-37 13.4%
38-42 4.5%
42+ 67.2%

Education:
High School / GED 4.5%
Some college 19.4%
Associates 17.9%
Bachelors 40.3%
Masters 14.9%
Doctorate 3.0%

Work:
Contractual/Hourly 9.0%
Staff/Salaried 68.7%
Supervisory 19.4%
Director 9.0%
Owner/Officer 6.0%

Years in current job:
0-4 32.8%
5-9 13.4%
10-14 26.9%
15-19 9.0%
20-24 7.5%
25+ 10.4%

Once again, I cannot post all the current results as they would sway the answers of anyone that has not participated.

Thank you

I must say that I thought that you had screwed up your survey when I saw your age categories, and the distribution of responses would appear to suggest that I was correct. Way to much precision at the low end of the scale, and not enough at the top.

Also, FWIW, you can usually just ask and get the actual number of years of age.

It is true the age selection has excessive precision at the low end of the scale. I am looking at the effects of changing the scale and do apologize for alienating anyone older than 42 years. Thank you for the comments

I now have 50% of the 200 surveys I need for my thesis.
Thank you so much to the people that have responded. Please keep the surveys coming and I will gladly post all the statistics and there meaning when the survey concludes.
