Navigate to the picture you want as your background and press the menu key, you should have option to set it as the Background or something along those lines. I am not sure on the exact verbage.

When connected via USB to your PC, access the card via Windows Explorer and do whatever you want with them.

I don't have the capability of hooking up my Micro SD adapter to my computer (security issues at work). So, how do I take the files off the SD into the ringtones and My Pictures section???

When you put the pics on the card, did you put them in the BlackBerry>Pictures-folder? If you did you should be able to see them, if you didnt...do so.

On my laptop at home I just transfered the pics/mp3's from laptop to the microcard. Then I inserted the card into my Blackberry. Now what??

When you insert the SD card into your blackberry, it's creating new folders ("video", "pictures", "music", etc), you have to put the pictures into the "pictures"-folder, the music into the "music"-folder and so on, otherwise you won't be able to see and use them on your blackberry.

Oh, uh..well, personally I just open the SD card and move them manually.
You might have to enable display of hidden folders.
