Default Problem restoring from Desktop Manager

Please Login to Remove!

I foolishly upgraded quickpull from 4.0.4 to 5.0.1 on my 9650 (OS 6.0.0.333). I backed up everything using DM the day before I did this.

The new version of Quickpull doesn't work. I've played with the permission settings, reloaded, etc. I need to go back to 4.0.4 but can't find that version anywhere on line - the links are all to 5.0.1 now. I tried to restore using yesterday's backup with DM, and while the calendar and everything were reset, QP is nowhere to be found. I'm guessing DM doesn't back up 3rd party software. Soooo...I need suggestions on how to obtain & reload 4.0.4 so I have a working version of quickpull again.

You are correct, DM does not backup 3rd party apps.

Have you tried contacting the developer of quickpull?

Have YOU ever tried to contact them? I'm not being smart, I'm just asking because that would SEEM like a reasonable thing to do. They have FAQs, a mail-in pdf form you can fill out, blogs you can comment on if you register with google or facebook, etc.

The one thing they don't have listed is a "support@steelthorn.com" address, or a "contact us" link anywhere on their webpages. Royal PITA.

I wish like hell I'd never tried to upgrade.

Nah, I wouldn't have a need to contact them. Battery pulls or the alt-shift-del work fine for me. No need for some app taking precious memory to do a simple task like that.

Battery pulls are a PITA with an otter box, and maybe I have ham fingers, but alt+del+shift is also a PITA. Plus which when the phone restarts the radio is off and the wifi is on which is the opposite of what I want. QP will do a reset every night at 0530 for me, so the phone is running and I'm not waiting for a boot and having to swap settings.

Anyway, pointless now as they've released 5.0.2 which fixed the problem. Works like a charm.

And I followed the directions for 3rd party backups found on this site and now EVERY app is backed up.
