Yes, unless the device is fully charged.

I've seen this on chargers that can't supply the necessary amperage to charge the Torch. My Belkin travel power strip with USB ports does this. Are you using a BlackBerry OEM car charger?

The iGo car charger works fine with the Torch. I even have a splitter which allows me to charge my Torch and my wife's iPhone 4 from the same iGo charger - works flawlessly.

I bought a Motorola headset from Costco which came with a car charger that just happened to work with my Torch. I haven't had any problems either.

I think what your describing is exactly what dbltap is describing. Old Nokia phones used to tell you when you plugged them in that they weren't charging.

Get a two for one and buy a headset and use the traveler charger like I do

Make sure the car charger can supply 700 ma so it charges as fast as a wall charger.

I use a 1000 ma charger and it charges up the battery faster during my short commute.

Get an OEM charger from Amazon. I am still using my 9700 OEM charger that I got on Amazon.

OEM 9700 charger supplies about 450ma and makes for a slow charge, but it does work.
