It seems to me the time to charge the PlayBook is excessive, but as I have said before I never had a tablet to have a comparison.

My unscientific test tonight started at 51% and it took exactly 2 hours to get to 100%.

Is that normal? This was probably the 9th or 10th time charging so it isn't a brand new battery. The lowest I have let it go was probably 30-35%.

I woke up with 19% (The lowest level I have been at)and have been charging for 1 hour 35 minutes with the standard wall charger. I am now at 79%

Seems ok.

The charger that comes with it is a "travel" charger, so it is a compromise between charging capacity and portability. There are higher current chargers available, including a charging stand, that deliver higher charging current to the dedicated power port if you want faster charging. So far, I've found that a charge lasts a day or two of use and it is always fully charged if I plug it in over night.

The high capacity magnetic charger (BlackBerry Rapid Travel Charger for PlayBook : Other Tablet Accessories - Future Shop) is worth the money. I think I was able to charge from from 35% in about an hour and a bit.

EDIT: Ok, so got a complete charge (100%) from 19% with the standard wall charger in 2 hours 3 minutes.

I noticed the mag/quick charger only connects to the PB. I like the fact I can charge my BB with the PB charger really quickly.

Compare these times with ... ohhh.. say... The Nook Color. You will then think the Playbook charger was developed by NASCAR!

I turned off my playbook and left it plugged in and after 6 hours it stayed at 97%
does it charge when in the off state
