I've searched this website and google but can't find any info.

Is there an app that will backup the BB to the SD card or remotely backup to the web? I'm going on vacation for a couple of weeks and the paranoid side of me is worried. I usually backup my BB every other day. I don't have a laptop to bring with me.

Not to the Media Card... no.

I have tested a couple of backup to the web apps/or sync to the web apps, but I don't recall either of them making it to market yet.

I will be corrected if there is such available, I just don't think there is.

While there isn't an app that specifically does a backup to SD (yet), here is what I do, in the event of a problem:

- I keep a few .IPD backups on the SD card

- I keep a copy of Desktop Manager on the SD card (uninstalled executable)

- I keep Javaloader (from JL_Cmdr) on the SD card

- I keep a few .COD files for apps that I cannot obtain/update OTA, on the SD card

- I keep a copy of the latest handheld OS on the SD card (uninstalled excecutable)

This only takes up a couple hundred megs of my 4 GB SD card. While a couple hundred megs sounds like a lot, it's really only one movie less, pretty much.

Anyways, in the event of a problem, assuming I can find a PC somewhere that I can borrow and have a USB cable; I can install Desktop Manager, reinstall my handheld OS, copy some apps onto the device directly using Javaloader and restore from .IPD backups.

While it's not as convenient as having an application which enables one to backup and restore directly from SD storage, in a pinch I think it will do (I haven't tested it, /knock knock).

This is a defininte disadvantage to my treo, there is a real lack of some of the basic software I had become used to having available. I like some things about this machine, but I do miss the auto internal backups that just put my mind at ease.
