Go to

SETUP

MOBILE E_MAIL SETTINGS

If you have not got a log in from your provider then click Create New Account. You will need your phone IEME and PIN plus your e-mail server details.

First of all, read the user guide that came with the device. It should be covered there. Also check out our FAQ, probably covered there as well.

Do you have a BB dataplan.

No? Can't be done without it.

Yes? Navigate to your carrier's BIS site, create a use name and password, log in and do it there.

Let me see if I've got this right... there's no way to set up an e-mail account to work just over wi-fi if you don't have a BB dataplan?

You could turn of Data Services and just use wifi.

True, but how would I set up the account in the first place? That's where I think the problem lies. (I'm still so new at Blackberries, please correct me if I'm missing something.)

Does anybody know of any third party apps that manage IMAP mail? It's not as convenient as using the integrated messaging program, but it might do the trick.
