Default Tmo has only 2G?

Am I correct in thinking T Mobile has only a 2G network? And if so, do they plan on upgrading to 3G?

They have 3G here in Miami. Have it on the G1 right now.

T-Mobile does have a limited 3G network in the US, but to my understanding it works on a different frequency than what other carriers (including AT&T) use. I'm not sure if you're asking if you will ever be able to use the Bold on T-Mo's 3G network, but as of right now I believe the answer would be no due to the difference in frequencies.

Tmo running on 1700 MHz... and i think Att are running on 1900 MHz... correct me if i am wrong...
BOld support 850 MHz, 1900 MHz, and 2100 MHz....
G1 Support 1700 MHz, and 2100 MHz...
so if TMO... can run on 2100Mhz... than we are in luck..!!!

you need both 1700/2100 for up/downlink (not sure which is which, but you need both)

Technically you should have 2.5G! (I know, it's not that different than 2G, and 3G is so much faster).

1G - analog
2G - GSM/GPRS (for this discussion)
2.5G - EDGE
3G - HSDPA/UMTS

I would expect you to have EDGE on T-Mo, but perhaps you are only on GPRS. The others are correct about the differences in frequencies between the carriers. Caveat emptor.
