I read the forums here in regard to the many problems of not being able to load BB with a clean OS. Some of the programs suggested I tried using to no avail

I am still having problems.

I was trying to load some 8330 themes and I could not as Blackberry Desktop Software would not load for whatever reason. I had the most recent OS on the BB.

I used JL_Cmder. to wipe BB 1st

Used Blackberry Desktop Software and I get as far as "Connecting to Boot Rom"...it stops there with the error "Application loader could not connect to device"...try device manager usb hub power management off" Power management is off on usb hubsCra

Thought I would try CrackMem for the hell of it and it says no operating system can be found.
I should have just left well enough alone as at least I had my audii books music and telephone.
Any help would be apprecated.
I tried my lap top and my PC
Tried different usb ports ect ect and device manager and still nothing

BTW, I also tried reset to factory in JL_Cmder andit says it cannot connect to port ...BUT IT WIPED IT BLOODY CLEAN...go Figure LOL.
I also took out battery and tried that way with BDS and still nothing

Ok I read everything on how to get this Bloody Black 8330 Back from the Dead after using JL_Cmder to wipe it clean. A time consuming mistake but I could not load any new themes prior to wipe as PC would not see the BB Operating System for whatever reason!

So I 1st used Desktop Blackberry Manager DBM
Re-installed DBM and put DBM ion C drive
(I had originally installed on a bigger slave drive but I donxxx8217;t think that made any dif in the long run).
Deleted all the original BB file folders remaining after uninstall (i.e., Vendor.xml ETC ETC) Kept a back- up copy of my BB back-up folder.
Opened DBM and took the latest update for operating system from the pull down menu

DBM loaded all 220 modules But in the next phase of xxx8220;Connecting to Boot Romxxx8221;
It would say I was NOT connected or whatever!

So the FIX for Not xxx8220;Connecting to Boot Romxxx8221; was I unplugged usb cord and battery as quickly as possible and put the battery back in....and it connected to Boot Rom..it worked Yahoo! I had to do this a few times to get it to work

I got to the last stage of this process in DBM
initializing or whatever it says and I got error again saying it could not connect to the bloody device. All this just to be denied Barry right at the end after waiting all night!

So plan B was the 2nd thing I did and folks this actually worked ok

Opened up Blackberry Desktop Software BDS and kept unplugging battery and usb cable @ PC and did this a few times and BINGO it caught it.

Got it into xxx8230;xxx8221;Install Erasing Applicationsxxx8221; then to xxx8220;Loading System Softwarexxx8221; and then xxx8220;Waiting for Devicexxx8221; initialization xxx8230;.Then into xxx8220;Loading Application Modulesxxx8221;...
xxx8220;Install Completexxx8221; Then to xxx8220;Reboot Connecting to Devicexxx8221;. (This might take up to 30 minutes)

I unplugged usb and battery here a few times while the green bar slowly went up and >>>IT WORKED!!!!!! I was so surprised to see my BB come back to life and I was able to make a call ASAP everything was there roaming etc. Loaded my back up and
happier then a pig in shit mun! Can I say shit here? Anyways, you dont know how attached Berry and I have become over the years! Berry and I are on again. So donxxx8217;t be shy to pull out that battery as you have nothing to loose. Hope this helps so poor soul/
