Default Gmail app won't work

Please Login to Remove!

I have downloaded the Gmail app and tried to open it.
It will not open so that it can be setup.

Is this because I don't have a data plan?

The same situation applies to weathereye app.

It won't open either.

I have been unable to use any Google apps because I don't have a BB dataplan. Oh well.

My experience with the gmail app is that it will not work with wifi, meaning you probably need a data plan.

I have this app working... but it is SLOW... I get gmail messages on my PC about 15-20 minutes earlier than on the phone.

Annoying, as I was having a back and forth conversation with somebody yesterday via gmail, and my phone would buzz at say, 3:58, and the email was stamped 3:41... 17 minute delay.

Anybody else have this issue?
