You sure? It could very well be one of the 3G units coming out for the UK markets, ie. 8707...

That is awesome. That means that I could integrate my Sprint cell phone plan with a nextel blackberry, this is awesome! Can stay in the same company

There's been some discussion about this over at HoFo. I'm not sure this qualifies as a confirmation.

Default It must be said: I TOLD YOU SO!!!

Sweet! This is the best news I've heard all week!

Now we just need to see pictures of what it looks like (hopefully it's based on the housing sculpt of the 8700g, as that's the best looking version, IMHO) and confirmation of the features. Since the other versions support 2.5g data via EDGE and 3g data via UMTS and EV-DO, hopefully the Nextel version will work on the WiDen network so we can get better data transfer rates.

Oh, and of course, RIM and Nextel need to stop farting around and ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE DATE!

And to all the doubters, who tried to sound the death knell for iDen and BlackBerries on the iDen network, I have just one thing to say: IN YOUR FACE! I TOLD YOU SO!!!

More good news for us Nextel users, first the upgrade to BIS 2.0 now this.

And to think, I almost jumped ship to T-Mobile.

He has a very good point. They didn't do that just to mess with our heads.... Or did they? HA! I wonder if it'll be dual band... If so how would they do it? Let just hope they release it soon... Like tomorrow :D

I doubt that it has anything to do with the future release of the 8702 or whatever.... but maybe its just a coincidence that the 8702 was spotted on a menu in the phone setup stuff... and today sprintnextel just upgraded the email features? i looked at my browser the other day and saw that the email setup bookmark was missing... then today i saw that it was back and i logged in and its all different.. and I also have all the folders for my email accounts on the home menu of my phone which i never had before. also https://webclient.blackberry.net/Web...sp?site=nextel is different
